New favorite drugstore mascara

I love drugstore mascaras. In fact, I only use drugstore mascaras usually. The only exception I make is for the Trish McEvoy mascara, which is the only non-drugstore mascara I think is worth the money.

My long-time favorite drugstore mascara has been the Maybelline Full-n-Soft, but ladies and gents, the Covergirl Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara has taken its place as my budget favorite. (I still do love MFNS though).

I picked this up off drugstore.com before coming to Paris because I knew mascara is really expensive in Europe. I wanted to make sure I stocked up before leaving. I had heard that this is a dupe for the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara, which I also really like, so I figured this would be a safe bet as far as drugstore mascaras go. I really can't tell a difference between this mascara and the Tarte one actually.

I love it!

The brush really grips the lash hairs and gives you great separation and volume if you want to build it up. The length is pretty great, too, although it's not the dramatic length you would get from the Trish McEvoy mascara. It doesn't look clumpy at all. It just makes you look like you have a ton of lashes; like they're hairy. It's awesome.

My favorite thing about it though is that it doesn't smudge or flake at all (the Full-n-Soft flaked a bit). Sure, if you cry, it does wear off and smudge, but otherwise you're good to go. It's also super easy to remove, which is definitely a plus. Usually long-lasting mascaras are really hard to remove. I also find that it doesn't weigh down the lashes.

The only downside to this mascara is the packaging. Pretty early on, the top of the tube cracked, and a month later, the top of the tube separated from the actual wand.

Other than that, though, I love this, and I think it's a great alternative to the Tarte mascara that costs way more. It's around 5 bucks or less at any drugstore.

It's sad that this mascara doesn't get more hype actually with all the Lashblast ones out.

Have you tried this?
