Review: Smith and Cult Nail Polish

Bitter Buddhist, a gorgeous mint.

When you actually work in the beauty industry (retail), you discover a lot of things before they're cool. Like Tata Harper, Eve Lom, and now Smith & Cult nail polish.

She Said Yeah, a perfect periwinkle.

Smith & Cult was founded by Dineh Mohajer, the same genius who created Hard Candy, which I hope we all remember from the nineties. She sold the company to Louis Vuitton when she was in her early twenties. Dineh needed a new baby, therefore, she started Smith & Cult. The polish has money and experience behind it, however, so you get this AMAZING formula that's basically chip-resistant, super glossy, and 5-free. Not to mention the colors (and names) are amazing! They look pretty on everyone (almost as pretty as the bottle itself).

Bang the Dream on other nails with Dirty Baby as the accent nail.
My favorite colors are Bitter Buddhist, She Said Yeah, Dirty Baby (all pictured), Dark Like Me (a gorgeous plum), Lovers Creep (the perfect blood red), The Graduate (a perfect putty kind of nude), and Shattered Souls (chunky gold glitter).

The glitters are amazing! Also, the base and top coat are incredible. They keep the nail protected, the polish shiny, and the color on for a good 5 days at least. I know people that have worn the polish chip-free for 9 days (we use the polish in the spa where I work, and it gets rave reviews).
The polish applies like a dream. Two coats, and you're done. The brush is so easy to work with.
Everything dries super fast. We don't even need any weird lights to set the polish so people can leave the salon without messing up their nails.

If you haven't tried Smith&Cult yet, you should. It's amazing. Available here by phone. (If you want to support a local business. ;)
