Updated: How I was my brushes

I used to wash my brushes with olive oil and dish soap, or just with a moisturizing dish soap (like the Palmolive one I talked about in this post). I still love those methods, but I've been trying something else lately that I also love, the classic Johnson's Baby Shampoo.

It's just been easier for me here in Europe (dish soap wasn't the easiest thing to pack in my suitcase to bring abroad). I love this little travel bottle, and I know it will still last me a long time.

I just wet my brush, put a nickel size amount of soap in the palm of my hand, swirl the brush in and work up a lather (this lathers really well), then rinse. I repeat until the brush squeezes out clear water, no makeup.

My brushes are clean but not dried out, soft, and left smelling really good (this stuff smells fantastic).

How do you wash your brushes?
