Review: Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara

This is another mascara I was able to pick up for super cheap thanks to my beautiful wonderful host sister and her job's discount from L'Oréal. I really wanted to try the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill mascara because one of my favorite you tubers, Tiffany, raves endlessly about this stuff. I can sort of see why, but keep reading, and you'll see why I can't...

Packaging: Gorgeous. I love the gunmetal tube that just feels expensive every time you feel it snap shut.

Brush: I love the brush. It's bigger, but not too big that it's hard to work with. It's also a regular bristle brush, and not rubberized. I just feel like it really grips the lashes to coat them and separate. The brush gives nice volume, separation, and decent length. I love the hairy look of my lashes when I'm done with this. However, not the best brush for the lower lashes.

One coat; nothing
One coat; nothing
Formula: The mascara builds okay, but it's better with one coat than two. When I do a second coat of this after the first one has dried, the mascara does clump at the tips, and sometimes it starts to flake. The mascara does tend to flake a bit in general. It also smudges like crazy. It gets pretty much everywhere, including my upper eyelids, which is a first for me with any mascara. It removes fine.

One coat
Two coats

Natural or dramatic? This mascara is one of those that looks like you could be wearing nothing with one coat, then false lashes with a second, so if this doesn't smudge on you, this could be incredible and very versatile.

Two coats both eyes, one coat on lower lashes
Overall: I like the brush and the effect this mascara gives me. I want to like it. However, it smudges so badly on me, that I just can't like it. I don't think it's worth the price.

What's a high end mascara that you think justifies the price?
