Review (with ingredients): La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Nettoyant

I picked up the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Nettoyant a while back because it was half priced (my host sister works at L'Oréal, so I got to use her discount :P ) and because Lisa Eldridge had mentioned it in one of her videos. I really wanted to like this.

Sadly, it didn't live up to my expectations.

The texture is pretty interesting. It comes out of the bottle kind of like a thick but slippery cream and just kind of slides all over the skin. While it does spread your makeup all around your face, it doesn't feel like it's getting into the skin to clean it. It's oil free, yet it feels greasy, especially if you wash it off without a hot cloth. Even after two cleanses with a hot wash cloth, it doesn't remove all makeup. I have to use a micellar water after double cleansing with this to finish getting my makeup off, then I go in with my toner at last.

The directions say to apply to the skin and remove with cotton, but it says you can also rinse if you want. It doesn't work well either way. After rinsing, water kind of just beads up on the skin.

As far as smell goes, it doesn't have a fragrance, but sometimes I'll catch a whiff of a chemically smell. Not horrible, but not my fave, ya know?

It also stings my eyes if I get a little bit in them. Not cool, LRP, not cool.

This stuff basically just coats the skin in residue, doesn't rinse off leaving the skin feeling clean (I'm not talking about stripped - your skin should never feel stripped after cleansing), and doesn't remove makeup. Even if you were to just use cotton pads with this, it won't be better than any other micellar water.

My skin has been more prone to breaking out while using this because it doesn't fully remove makeup.

At least it doesn't dry out the skin.

After using this up, it's safe to say I won't repurchase. I don't recommend this to anyone.
