So as I've run out of some things (and am about to run out of some things), I thought I'd do a little shopping and, of course, show y'all what I picked up.
First order of business, I ran out of powder and bronzer (at the same time - don't you love it when that happens?) so I picked new ones up from Deborah Milano. Overall, the brand reminds me of Kiko, probably because they're from the same city. But anyway, it's more affordable as far as European makeup goes, and it's pretty good stuff. Unfortunately, the bronzer isn't as pigmented as I would like (either that or I got too light of a shade), and I picked up a powder that's a bit dark for me (although the quality is excellent), but it'll suffice.
A trip to Ronda this past weekend led me to buy a couple more natural beauty items. I got rose hip oil and natural deodorant from a stand at a market, and although I probably didn't need them, I'm still happy with it. I've been wanting to try rose hip oil for a while, because everyone says it's supposed to be miraculous. The deodorant wasn't really necessary considering I just got a new one and still have an older natural one, but I was curious about the deodorant lotion format. I've used both products for a few days now, and as far as the rose hip oil goes, it's nothing miraculous, but it's very hydrating, and I think it's helping my skin produce less oil. The deodorant works pretty well actually. Only downside is that you apply with your fingers (which I obviously expected - it's the point) and it has some white residue (baking soda).
And the new deodorant I was talking about above is the Dove Cucumber Green Tea. I've used probably about five or more of these before (Costco, woot woot), and I really like Dove deodorants. No it's not very healthy, but it works. It's an interesting package, too. In the states, we have more stick deodorants, but here it's more popular to have a roller ball. I think I prefer the stick, but I couldn't find it. Currently I alternate between my three deodorants I have now.
In Seville, there's a festival going on called Festival de las Naciones. There are a ton of booths there with food and trinkets from all over. From a Moroccan vendor, I found a perfume oil. Since I had emptied the perfume I brought with me (Saint Patron), I wanted something to keep me smelling nice. I got the jasmine scent, because jasmine is basically my true love. I really like it so far, and the oils last a good amount of time on the skin.
I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this, but I got a Wild Orchid perfume roller ball at Zara. It was a bit of an impulse buy. You know how they always get you with those last minute buggers at the till? Anyway, I rolled it on, loved it (it almost had an anise-y scent at first), bought it, then waited another five minutes and started to not like it so much. It dries down into more of a sickly scent.
Since my Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 cleanser is about to run out, and costs an arm and a leg here in Spain, I bought this Clean and Clear one, another 3-in-1. I usually wouldn't recommend cleansers from Clean and Clear (most are packed with sulfates and other nasties), but this one was cheap, clay based, and sulfate free. If you don't like parabens, this won't fly with you, but I'm not so worried as it's going to be washed away anyway. As far as how it works, I'll keep you updated.
Another supermarket purchase, I picked up the L'oréal Elvive Extraordinary Oil. My hair was feeling a bit tangly, and I think it's because I haven't had any silicones on it. Some people hate silicone, but I (and my frizzy, unruly hair) absolutely love it. This stuff is amazing. It has a weird smell, but that aside, it makes your hair so soft and shiny, and it helps control frizz. It's been keeping my hair from breaking, too, because it gives it more slip. If you're thinking about buying an expensive hair oil, maybe think about this cheaper option first. I love it!
