Emptied: Trish McEvoy Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 15 in Natural
Replaced: Deborah Milano Cipria Ultrafine Shade 2
This is my second Trish McEvoy Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 15 I've gone through. I love the stuff, and I'm so sad it's gone. It gives great coverage, absorbs oil well, and sets my concealer in place perfectly. However, for now, I've found an okay replacement in the Deborah Milano Cipria powder. It does a great job of absorbing oil and setting makeup, although it does so with less coverage. It also has a weird granny-ish scent, so if you have fragrance-sensitive skin, watch out.
What is nice though, is that the Deborah powder does have a lot of product, 9g as opposed to 7gm with the Trish. It also is a bit cheaper.
As far as packaging goes, I really like it. It has a nice mirror (and comes with a puff if you're into that), but it's not too bulky. I love a good product to package ratio. However, the Trish McEvoy powder's packaging is flawless since you just buy the refill and put it in your own Trish palette.
Emptied: Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze
Replaced: Deborah Milano Bronze Attraction Maxi Terra Abbronzante Shade 2
I also finished up a Rimmel Bronzer, and I'm not going to say I'm sad to see it go. Yes, the product was actually not half bad for what you pay. However, the packaging was horrible like all the Rimmel powders, and it was a pain to take it anywhere. I replaced it with the Deborah Milano Maxi Bronzing Powder. The Deborah is absolutely huge: you get 30g of product as opposed to 14g (more than double!). However, the powder lacks in the pigmentation department. After using it for a while now, I notice I'm already starting to make a dent in it. So while you may get more product (for more money than the Rimmel, obviously), the pigmentation, or lack thereof, will cause it to go at a similar rate. However, I do prefer this packaging, considering it doesn't just bust open whenever it wants.

Emptied: Marvis Toothpaste in Whitening Mint
Replaced: Sensodyne Whitening Toothpaste
I ran out of my second big tube of my favorite Marvis toothpaste ever, and I was so sad I couldn't find Marvis anywhere in Spain to replace it (I should've stocked up when I was in Italy). I settled for Sensodyne. While Sensodyne works really well at cleaning teeth and reducing sensitivity, the whitening power is average, and the taste is absolutely gross. I'm not a fan of the after taste.

Emptied: Nuxe Melting Cleansing Gel
Replaced: Egyptian Magic
I ran out of the Nuxe Melting Cleansing Gel, which is what I used to take off my makeup. The stuff wasn't bad, but I've definitely used better. It was hard to get the hang of at first (you have to wet your face, apply, massage, then muslin off), and I prefer straightforward products that I know work every time. I didn't actually replace it with another cleanser, but I had some Egyptian Magic on hand, and I found that this was actually a pretty good substitute as a cleansing balm, considering the ingredients to this and a balm cleanser are actually pretty similar. I just take a small dollop, melt it in my hands, massage on my face and neck, and muslin it away. It removes makeup really well, and after my second cleanse, my skin still feels hydrated and smooth. I felt like the Nuxe Cleanser left my skin a bit dry, so this was a good replacement. Egyptian Magic, while it is kind of average when it comes down to doing specific jobs (no, it does not magically cure all acne or dark spots - not like it claims to, though), is amazing to keep around for when you need something to just do it all decently.
So I hope you liked this post. It's almost like an empties and shopping the stash at the same!
