It's been a while since I've done any kind of favorites, but I've been loving a few things recently, so I thought I'd keep you updated. I picked out ten things that have been popping up a ton this month, and I highly recommend all of them. If you're in the market for something new, definitely check them out.
Dove has always been one of those boring brands for me. It's always there, but nothing about it is actually interesting or compels me to try something. However, whenever I need something effective and don't know what else to try, I find Dove really just brings it. This body wash is no exception. It smells good, has a nice creamy lather, and it lets me be lazy about moisturizing after my shower because it leaves my skin feeling so hydrated. Top marks for the old standby.
2. L'Oréal EverSleek Shampoo and Conditioner
I've tried two other sets of shampoo and conditioner from this line and had been disappointed, mainly because of the smell. However, I was in need of a new sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner here in Spain, so I double checked the smell (it's fresh and light, not that horrible fake rosemary) and went for these guys. I'm really glad I did, because I feel like these keep my hair a lot more hydrated than anything I've tried after Free Your Mane or Serge Normant (my top favorites), and I really like them. Apparently third time's a charm.
If you saw my lazy day makeup post here, you'll know that I've been giving this plenty of use this month. Whenever I'm in a rush, I whip out this bad boy for a quick eye look that looks like I spent way more time than it actually took. It also lasts all day. If you want to know more, I have a separate review.
When I'm not feeling incredibly lazy and choose to use powder eyeshadow, I whack a bit of this on my eyelid to prime and keep my eyeshadows staying put all day. It evens the color of the eyelid out, too so if you're looking a bit tired, this is even great on its own. I do prefer to top it up with my powders so I can have perfect eyeshadow all day, though.
I obsess about this mascara all the time, but I got a new tube that I've been using for the past two months, and yes, I'm still obsessed. This stuff gives incredible length and volume in just one coat, and it holds a curl all day all without smudging. The best part? You only need a bit of warm water to get it off.
6. Mineral powder over theBalm concealer
When I was using my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (which is now gone, thank goodness), my concealer would look cakey and patchy by the end of the day. However, I switched back to a mineral based powder (the Trish McEvoy SPF 15 one, which I just finished, and now the Deborah Milano one), this concealer looks flawless all day. All concealing stays in place without patching up or looking dry and cakey. With the proper powder, theBalm timeBalm concealer is firmly at the top of my favorite concealer list.
Trish hits it home with almost all of her products, but I especially love her blushes. I've been going to Natural all month. It's the perfect natural blushing color to just perk up the face a bit, and it goes with every look I've wanted to do. Also, a little bit goes a long way because it's so pigmented.
When I'm not using my Nuxe Rêve de Miel lip balm, I'll usually have this with me. Just a tiny bit gives the lips a nice berry tint that's perfect for fall. It's nice and moisturizing, and it gets extra points for having that bit of SPF in it. I have another full review of this here.
I've been using this for a while, and you've even seen it in my updated skincare routine, so you'll know I think it's the bomb by now. I've been relying on this to keep blemishes at bay and give me some more exfoliation. I'm absolutely love this, and I highly recommend it for the more oily among us.
In Spain, the food has incredibly high amounts of salt and oil. Not to mention, there are no water fountains anywhere, so I've been perpetually dehydrated. That on top of me running out of my vitamins, consuming more sugar, drinking a bit more (legally), being stressed, and PMSing, I've gotten a few hormonal breakouts. I find when I feel one coming on and pop this on at night, they don't come up at all, and if there's one peeking through, this beats it down over a night or two. It's absolutely incredible. It gets a bit drying, however, so make sure you're moisturizing properly before dabbing it on every night.
So that's it. Pop any questions down below!
