Here we are at yet another round of empties. Enjoy!
Garancia en Deux Coups de Baguette
I had a deluxe sample of this from Garancia's trial kit I got when I was in Grenoble. It's a cleansing cream, and you're meant to take it off with a hot wash cloth, not rinse off. It smells like roses (a minus for me, a plus for some), has a thicker creamy texture, and you need a nickel size amount to do the job. I found this wasn't the most amazing cleanser ever for removing my makeup; it's more slippery than a cleansing balm, and it just doesn't feel like it dissolves anything. It's nice that it didn't strip the skin, but I just never felt like my skin was really rid of everything I put on it earlier (especially eye makeup). It's not bad, but it's nothing to write home about, and I wouldn't get the full size of the product after having used this sample.
Lumene Radiant Touch Refreshing Foam Cleanser
Lumene definitely reformulated this cleanser. This is the second tube of it I've gone through, and I have to say that I miss the old formulation. The fragrance is the same, and it does smell good. However, this one has less of it (which is a good thing - just not as pleasurable). It's also thicker and kind of has the same texture as Homeoplasmine. It does lather up (without sulphates), but you kind of have to work with it to get the lather. It does do a great job of removing makeup, but I also felt like the new formula dried my skin out a bit. I don't think I'll repurchase this since my skin likes more hydrating cleansers.
Caudalie Make-up Removing Cleansing Water
I had a deluxe sample of this from the Caudalie trial set I got in Grenoble. I don't really care for micellar waters in general, but I thought I'd use it up. I like this better than the L'Oréal one at least. It's not too drying, it gets off makeup eventually, doesn't sting the eyes, and it smells nice. However, I think cleansing waters are kind of a faff. You need a zillion cotton pads and a lot of product to fully remove makeup. You're better off just using a cleansing balm/oil/cream. Not repurchasing this (or micellar waters in general).
Caudalie Vinosource Moisture Recovery Cream
I got this moisturizer in Seville when my skin was feeling really tight and dehydrated. This set it straight pretty quickly and ended up being one of my favorite moisturizers. It smells incredible, first of all, and it's also very hydrating without being greasy. I wouldn't use it during the day, because I'd go for the Vinosource Sorbet which is lighter, but it's a great night-time option. I would definitely repurchase at some point. (Available at most French pharmacies).
Caudalie Fleur de Vigne Gel Douche
I love this shower gel. This is my third? fourth? one I've used. It smells great, has a nice lather, and doesn't dry out the skin. I won't be repurchasing in the near future because I have so many other shower gels I need to use up, and this runs out extremely quickly (like two or three weeks), but I have repurchased this so many times that, yeah it's possible. (Available at most French pharmacies).
Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream
This is the best hand cream ever. It's so hydrating but never ever feels greasy. It also smells incredible, and isn't too expensive. I will definitely repurchase after I finish my Soap and Glory Hand Food. (Available at most French pharmacies).
Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Fresh Light Feeling Lotion
This is the third bottle of this lotion I've gone through. I love it. It smells great, it's hydrating, it sinks in really quickly, and it's never greasy on the skin. It's also super cheap. I would definitely repurchase this. (Available at most drugstores and on drugstore.com).
Nivea A Kiss of Olive Oil and Lemon Lip Balm
I have mixed feelings about this lip balm. It hydrates really well, feels nice on the lips (and stays there for a long time), and isn't too shiny. However, it tastes like you just got a mouth full of shampoo. If it weren't for the toxic taste, I would repurchase this.
Covergirl Professional Super Thick Lash Mascara
This is my new favorite drugstore mascara. I have a whole review on it here because I love it so much. Yeah, the packaging sucks, but whatever. It's so cheap and good, and I'll definitely be repurchasing (even after finishing the backup tube that I already have). (Available at most drugstores and on drugstore.com).
Perfume oils from Avignon (Strawberry, Mint, and Passion Fruit)
I finished some perfume oils. I liked the strawberry but wasn't a fan of the mint and passion fruit. I won't be repurchasing them because I can't unless I go to Avignon, but they deserved to be thrown in the post anyway.
Bellanatura Rosehip Oil (mostly used, but definitely expired by now)
I got this rosehip oil when I was in Ronda, Spain. This is a generously sized bottle (2oz), and I used 1.5oz of it, but I didn't finish the rest because I think it expired. The smell definitely changed from what it was in the beginning. I'm not too much of a fan of the facial oils to be honest. I prefer serums. I felt like this just sat on top of my skin as opposed to hydrating it and doing something. I just don't think it really made that much of a difference in my routine. There are probably some better quality oils you can get, but I won't be repurchasing this particular one.
Hope you liked this set of mini reviews. I love seeing what people think of a product after having used it up.
What was the last product you finished?
