Review: Covergirl Lash Blast 24-hour

I've talked about this mascara a few times on this blog, because it's pretty awesome, I think. The formula is super black and long lasting. It doesn't clump badly at all (I find that applying kind of sideways to get a winged-out look makes sure there are no clumps), and like the name would imply, it's super volumizing! Love. The brush itself is super huge, which probably helps with its volumizing effects. Sometimes it's hard to reach the little lashes though. :/ Oh well. It's not incredibly lengthening, but it does enough.

I mentioned in my post about my everyday makeup routine that I had a love/hate relationship with this mascara. It makes your lashes look amazing and lasts forever. However, it's extremely hard to remove with regular makeup removal methods (for me, that's a makeup removing cleanser). It also smudges on the tops of the eyelids... Yikes.

Although I haven't found a way to prevent the eyelid smudging, just treating it by wiping it off with my fingers... heh, I've found a pretty effective way to take it off without pulling out every single lash! That solution is extra virgin olive oil.

This was a bit scary for me to try at first, because I have oily skin, so I cringe at using anything that contains oil on my face. But fear not! Pure extra virgin olive oil will not clog your pores! Something about the molecules being too large to do so... I even heard olive oil will break down all the little clogs anyway, so yay! Plus, the massage feels darn good and even luxurious.

(This is an old deluxe sample bottle I filled with olive oil. Yay reusing stuff!)

At night, I'll just pour a bit of olive oil in the palm of my hands, rub those together, and then massage my face for a bit. I then move my oily hands to my eyes and lightly massage and rub my lashes. I'll then wash my face and panda eyes with my regular cleanser (I cleanse a second time with my Clarisonic). Be sure to remove your face makeup before you move to your eyes so you don't wipe mascara all over your face.

Glad I found a way to cope with this mascara's problems, because I love it! Maybe they'll make a 24 hour version of the Lashblast Fusion??? Please?
