Best Body Wash: Lush Flying Fox
I change out my body washes all the time, but needless to say that this was the best I've tried all year. I love Lush shower gels, but this one I found to be especially smoothing, and I love the jasmine scent. Yum.
Best Body Lotion: Ahava Mineral Botanic Rich Body Butter
It's rare that a body lotion stands out to me, but this one by Ahava is amazing. It's so hydrating, but it sinks into the skin without any greasiness. It smells Ah-mazing.
Best Fragrance: Essential Molecules Molecule 01
This is the fragrance to end all fragrances for me. I'm pretty sure once I've used up all of my perfumes, this will be the only one I'll repurchase, my signature. It smells different on everyone, I always get compliments on it, and it really lingers. I'm obsessed.
Best Base Coat: Smith and Cult The Basis of Everything
Remember Hard Candy nail polishes? Well the creator made a whole new line of polishes that are all 5-free, Smith&Cult, and it's the best thing since sliced bread. This base coat is super sticky and keeps polishes around forever. It dries fast and protects the nails. I'm in love.
Best Top Coat: Smith and Cult Above It All
Again, best top coat I've ever used. It's so shiny and keeps polish on forever. I've seriously never tried a shinier topcoat.
Best Nail Polish: Smith and Cult (All of them)
Can you tell that this new line is my new crack? Every single polish they make is incredible. They're all glossy, long-lasting, gel-like, 5-free, and pigmented. They all apply well (I love the brush, too). The packaging is beautiful (only downside is that when you get to the bottom it's hard to get the brush around the sides of the bottle). My favorite colors are probably Lover's Creep (best red ever), Dark like me (gorgeous plum), Bitter Buddhist (mint green), Feed the Rich (dark teal), and Dirty Baby (sparkly black). They're all beautiful, and I feel like they're pretty neutral, so anyone can pull them off. Plus the names are hilarious (like Gay Ponies Dancing in the Snow).
Best Polish Remover: Bourjois 1 Second Nail Polish Remover
If this actually took a second to remove all my polish, that would be awesome, but this stuff is pretty damn quick anyway. Just stick your finger in the pot, twist a few times, and your polish is off. This also smells good, too (kind of fake-cherry ish). Only downside is that once you've had it a while, the polish kind of builds up in the pot and it'll stop working well, and it leaves oil on the nails. But for a good acetone-free remover this is great.
Best Nail Treatment: Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover
Best cuticle remover that ever was (and it's cheap). Removes cuticles in seconds.
Best Hand Cream: Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream
I'm on my third tube of this stuff. It smells great, hydrates excellently, and it isn't greasy.
Best Tool: The Body Shop Exfoliating Towel
I've been using this since I was 13 (I'm now 22), and I'm still obsessed and will never use another loofah-like thing. I feel like I need to mention it again now, because sadly not enough people know about this. It's super scrubby (makes skin so soft), will get a great lather out of the tiniest amount of body wash/soap, and wrapping it around yourself and doing a little dance with it gets your back clean and scrubbed super easily and quickly. Please do yourself a favor and go get one.
Best Shampoo: Free Your Mane Shampoo
Holy grail shampoo. Great lather, great smell, sulfate-free. It leaves my hair so silky and clean.
Best Conditioner: Free Your Mane Conditioner
Holy grail conditioner. Makes my hair so soft and frizz-free. Great for detangling. It's like nothing else matches up.
Best Hair Treatment: Phyto Karité Mask
The first time I used this mask, I was blown away. My hair was so soft, smooth, frizz-free, and strong-looking. Best mask I've ever used so far.
Best Styling Product: L'Oréal Ever Riche Absolute Oil
I love this spray oil from L'Oréal. It's not greasy at all. It just makes the hair really shiny and soft. It manages to tame my frizz really well. It smells amazing, too.
Best Toothpaste: Marvis Aquatic Mint
I have tried and love all the Marvis toothpastes, but I just tried this one this year, and holy shit. The first time I put it in my mouth, I was like, WTF this is so good. It tastes kind of like pineapple, but still has the refreshing mint taste at the end. New favorite (sorry jasmine and cinnamon, but a new kid's in town).
Best Deodorant: LaVanilla Vanilla Deodorant
I never thought I'd try a natural deodorant that actually worked after my Lush Aromarant was discontinued. This one is excellent. Even though it doesn't stop sweat (aluminum free), it blocks odors, and I smell super good throughout the whole day. It feels slightly wet on my pits, but I'll deal for a natural deodorant that actually controls my odor. *claps*
So yay! That's it! What are some of your favorite products you discovered this year?
