I never had time to post this one when I was in France, but I was digging through my photos and found these, so I thought I'd tell you how I spent my money for my last days in Grenoble.
I got a bunch of travel stuff, since I was going backpacking. I love travel sets because they give you the best of the brands for a good price in just-trying-out sizes.
I got this Nuxe set. I tried the Eau Micellaire. It's okay, a bit more drying than the Caudalie, better at removing makeup than the Avène no rinse cleanser I was using. Smells like roses. I wouldn't purchase after trying it, because when it comes to removing makeup, nothing works better than a real cleanser rinsed off with water.
The Nuxellence Jeunesse moisturizer it came with is really nice. I've used it about five times, and I already like it. It's a hydrating but not oily, thick, fluid. It sinks into the skin nicely. If you have really dry skin, it might not be for you, but it's a good option for oilier skins. Not the biggest fan of the smell, but it's not horrible.
The set came with the famous Huile Prodigeuese and Rêve de Miel hand cream, but I haven't tried them yet.
The NuxeBODY shower gel it came with is fantastic. I finished it after using it for a bit more than a week (which is great from a travel size!) and loved it. I might like the formula even better than my Caudalie. It takes almost nothing to work up a great, hydrating lather. It feels so nice on the skin, leaving you smooth, clean, and moisturized. It's really nice for those with KP (keratosis pilaris aka chicken skin). The smells not my favorite - it's vanilla-y, but not quite mixed with plastic.
I got this set from Garancia, mainly for the Diabolique Tomate Water Cream. It came with their balm cleanser, a night cream, and a body lotion. I have yet to try any of it.
I got a Caudalie set because I know they can do (almost) no wrong, and it was great value for money.
The Micellaire Water is better than most at removing makeup and still leaving your skin not too stripped.
I've been wanting to try their dry Divine oil for a long time, so I'm excited to use this.
I tried the Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet and absolutely love it. It's a mousse-y gel cream texture that just sinks into the skin and hydrates without being oily. It smells amazing.
One of my favorite shower gels of all time Fleur de Vigne smells amazing, has a fantastic lather, and leaves your skin feeling incredible.
I also picked up Nuxe Gel Démaquillant Fondant, another makeup removing cleanser, to replace the Avène one I really didn't like. I'm actually almost done with it. It's okay. It took me a few tries to figure out the best way to use it, which is to rinse off your face thoroughly with water first (I do this anyway to get off my tubular mascara) then massage in the product and wash it off. It's slightly drying, doesn't get all makeup off (it takes a couple goes), and smells like roses, which if you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know is a con for me.
I picked up the Bio Beauté by Nuxe deodorant. I liked this a lot at first. It's nasty free, which I love, it seemed to really work, and it has a very pleasant herbal smell. However, it's not been lasting as long now as it did when I first started using it.
In Nice I picked up the Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 cleanser/mask/scrub (not pictured). This is one of my favorite cleansers of all time. It has amazing ingredients, and it is so effective at keeping oily skin breakout free. I love it.
So this will be my last French pharmacy haul for a while, sadly. When I am in Paris to study, however, there will be way more to come. :D
