Red Lips in France

This was my first purchase I made in Grenoble. For some reason, I just really felt like wearing a red lip, so I popped into Sephora and picked this baby up.

I was originally looking for a red from byTerry (whose lipsticks are just the best - they feel like a balm), but I wanted something more matte and less expensive. The girl at Sephora showed me the Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense in 42, and I thought it was just the perfect red.

It's also long lasting (although you will need to reapply after eating) and completely matte. I hate the way shimmer or any shine looks on my lips, which is why I usually only go for balms, so this was perfect for me.

Just keep in mind, that with this, and any dramatic lipstick, you should exfoliate your lips pre-application. I use the Fresh Sugar Lip scrub right now, although I hate the taste, especially when compared to the goodness that is the Sara Happ lip scrubs, but you can use your finger/towel/toothbrush to exfoliate the lips, too, or even make your own scrub.

I only have three lip products (this, a balm from Nuxe, and the Sugar Berry Balm from Fresh), but I think I have the essentials. And yes, this is dramatic, but when I wear anything else than a lip balm, it's kind of go big or go home.
