Review: Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Sticks (Fresh Peach and Juicy Papaya)

You know beauty products you love at first, but then really change your mind later?
I'm pretty sad to say that the Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Sticks are those kind of products. I really really loved these at first, so much so that I got two shades (Juicy Peach and Fresh Papaya), but after wearing these for a while, I'm kind of over them.

I loved them initially (and don't hate them now) because they're super comfortable. These are hydrating and non-sticky. EmilyNoel83 was right when she said that these were the sweatpants of lipstick.

That's just it though. Sweatpants are super comfy, but they don't look good.

The color settles into lines on the lips and is super creamy and visible on them. Also, these don't just have shimmer, it's flat out glitter. I've been putting them on for a while, but I guess I finally looked in the mirror the other day and noticed how horrible those gold flecks looked on my lips. Juicy Papaya (the darker pink swatch) is a bit worse on the glitter front - like the wannabe Nars Orgasm of lip products, but Juicy Peach isn't the best either and isn't nearly as pigmented.

I much prefer gel-like formulas when it comes to lip products, no shimmer at all.

Even though I buy a lot of my makeup at the drugstore, I don't like my makeup to look like that's where it came from. And Neutrogena's not the cheapest drug store brand either.

I'm pretty disappointed in these.
